A new season has arrived at Regenerate Society, Inc., and with it comes a renewed focus on purpose, preparation, and partnership. Season 9 marks a pivotal moment in our organization’s journey — one where we are intentionally strengthening our internal foundation while expanding our impact outward across the city of Birmingham.
Season 9 Launch: MLK Day in Action
Our Season 9 launch officially began on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, grounding this new chapter in both reflection and service. The day started with an interview appearance on The Morning Aux Show, where members of our Health & Wellness Division joined Executive Director Wes Wright to discuss their work and what’s ahead for the season. This feature came as a direct result of the Health & Wellness team winning the 2025 RJV Media Lab Project of the Year Award, which included the opportunity to be highlighted on the show.
Following the interview, our team moved from conversation to action. Members spent the afternoon serving at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, assisting with a creative activation for youth visitors. Under the direction of Studio 2500’s Willie Williams, Jr., our team helped guide over seventy children in creating collages that encouraged self-expression, reflection, and creativity — a meaningful way to honor the legacy of Dr. King through hands-on service.

We appreciate both RJV Media Lab and Willie Williams, Jr. for allowing us to sit and serve with them to kick off our ninth season!
Building Stronger Veterans for the Future
This past fall, rather than launching another large-scale Training Camp, we made a strategic decision this season to invest deeply in our current members. By prioritizing veteran development, we are equipping our team to lead with excellence, consistency, and care — not only for this season, but in preparation for Season 10 and beyond. Strong veterans build strong teams, and Season 9 is about raising the standard from the inside out.
Strengthening Leadership & Business Impact
That same commitment to long-term growth is reflected in one of our most exciting additions this season: the hiring of Katiana Banks as our Business Impact Developer. As the leader of our Business Division, Katiana brings extensive experience in communications, community engagement, and small business development. Her role strengthens our ability to build sustainable partnerships, equip members with entrepreneurial insight, and ensure the work we do today creates lasting impact for the future.
A Clear Focus on Serving Birmingham Youth (Ages 9–18)
One of the most visible shifts this season is our intentional focus on serving youth ages 9–18 within Birmingham City. While our active roster continues to consist of members ages 17–24, the projects they design and lead will now be centered on reaching back and investing in the generations coming behind them. This shift allows our members to apply their leadership, creativity, and developing talents toward mentorship, education, and exposure for young people at a critical stage of life — directly aligning with our mission to revive, restore, and regenerate purpose across generations.
Serving Through Partnership
Season 9 will also look different in how we show up across the city. Rather than centering our calendar around marquee, RS-hosted initiatives, this season emphasizes service through partnership. Our team is committed to meeting community needs by supporting the work of our partners — serving alongside organizations like The Flourish Alabama during their High Tea series and assisting with events such as the UNCF Birmingham Mayor’s Masked Ball. This season is about presence, reliability, and shared impact.
